Notes:
The Spitfire array as adapted to K1VRs 100-foot tower is shown. To enhance visibility, the wire parasitic elements have been colored over in red. The wire elements are actually suspended from the 90-foot point because of the 40-meter beam above. The loading effect of the various beams results in the tower by itself resonating under 1.5 MHz, but doesnt preclude the array from working FB! The tower is fed via a gamma shunt feed system which taps the tower around the 80 foot point. The gamma rod is barely visible in this photo on the right side of the tower. About 60 quarter-wave radials are installed on the ground under the tower.
